Plan a vacation or weekend in Confluence.

There are accommodations for 140+ guests in the many wonderful and unique B & B's and Guest Houses in the area. Rates range from $60 to $115. There is a campground located next to the Youghiogheny River. With the Youghiogheny Lake and River, the Great Allegheny Passage bike trail, and the many surrounding attractions, you have many activities to keep all age groups busy for the length of your stay.

Check out the newest attractions on the activities page.

On May 21, 1754 Colonel George Washington and a small party were sent to the junction of the Youghiogheny River, the Casselman River and the Laurel Hill Creek to survey the area. An Indian guide told him to notice the way the three bodies of water joined together to form the shape of a turkey's foot. Thus the name of the area originated in this manner. The name Turkeyfoot still remains the name of this beautiful valley.

The above picture and information are part of the, yet "unnamed", new park in Confluence near the Youghiogheny bike bridge.

ReserveAmerica has named the Youghiogheny Outflow Campground in Confluence as one of  America's Top 100 Family Campgrounds of 2006.
The only campground in Pennsylvania to make the list.

The Youghiogheny River was designated as Pennsylvania's River of the Year for 2008 by the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
